Cousins, Fireworks, and Fun

Here is how I found little miss Emerson playing with her water table the other day. She was having a ball just sitting in the thing, dumping water all over herself. You can tell she was quite proud of what she accomplished. This is one thing I can say that Kaleb never did with the water table!A shot of the cousins on the beach. I have some cute nekkid pics of the kids in the outdoor shower, but I thought it best to keep those off the internet!
We had a great time visiting with Chris, Sarah, Clara, Carter and our soon to be niece! Ok ok, so they don't know what they are having, but I'm making a prediction. We'll see come September.

Ah, the fireworks. We had such a great time. Both kids did great considering we got there 2 hours before the actual fireworks went off (and WAY past their bedtime). Emerson did pass out in the middle of the fireworks. How she managed to stay asleep through all of the loud booms is beyond me. Kaleb crashed as soon as we got him into the car on the way home.

Miss Emerson has already entered her teen years as she was embarrassed to sit with us. She kept moving her seat about 10 feet in front of us to sit by herself! Too funny.

Kaleb is my little budding photographer. He is always begging me to use my camera. Look at the cute picture he got of me and Jason. I am always complaining that there are no pictures with me in them. I guess I'll be using Kaleb a little more often!
Emerson and I traveled all the way to Jackson this past Sunday to attend my friend Mindy's baby shower (who is expecting a girl in August). Another baby we can't wait to meet! It was a fun girls day, but the poor baby was exhausted from being in the car for so long. I thought she looked sweet on the way home so I snapped this picture.

Here is the picnic table that Jason and his dad worked on all day Saturday. He is quite proud of his accomplishment! It turned out great. We had been wanting to rebuild a picnic table as our other was beyond repair. Now we have some extra seating just in case we decide to ever invite people over.

Summer Lovin

This year I decided that we would get one of those little hard plastic pools for the kids to splash around in. Kaleb is a little disappointed that he can't actually swim in it, but it does the job and both kids love being in there. Plus, it is simple to dump out each night and I don't have to worry about nasty water sitting in it for several days.

We have also put a little fire pit by our swing so that we can enjoy our weekend nights out by the fire roasting 'smarshmallows', as Kaleb likes to call them! Nice pose by the model eh?

Jaden and Shannon came over today for our first playdate of the year. We decided to keep it low key and let the kids play on the slip and slide. They had a ball! Emerson slept through most of the fun but she came out later and joined in the pool fun.

Today we also went to my first bff's house. I got to visit with my old friends Mandy, Stacie and Erin. It was so nice seeing them again. Mandy and Stacie have some adorable kids. I still can't get over Stacie's mini-me Olivia. We had some great times in the Old Farms neighborhood and I really do miss them. If you are seeing this ladies "Hi". Congratulations Erin!

T-ball and Date Night

Kaleb has his firs "Bitty Ball" practice on Monday and he just loved it. They go for 6 weeks and just learn the basics of the game. He can't wait to go back.Look at that form! Jason told Kaleb that they will start doing a lot more practicing at home too.
Kaleb was so proud of himself when he made "two good catches!"
Date night for Kaleb and I at Palmer Park. Yes, those are pajamas.
Each week they have 'Movies at the Park' around town. This week was 'Enchanted' which is Kaleb's current favorite. We go there early so we had time to play, and of course got good seats! The park quickly filled up as it got dark. We had a blast and I can't wait until the next movie.

Water Fun!

On Saturday Kaleb got to try out the new sprinkler toy Uncle Derek got him for his birthday. He loved it, but since I wasn't ready to get wet, he gave up pretty quickly as he was the only one doing the work. Emerson wanted nothing to do with the water on this day.

Slip'n'slide Sunday!! We all had so much fun today. Jason and I keep saying that we will regret it tomorrow when we are both too sore to move. It sure is fun to just let loose and be a kid again.

Kaleb's first homework assignment

I forgot to share this.
Kaleb is getting really good with his writing. It started with us having to write the letters first and then he would copy. Now we just tell him the letter and he writes it himself. My baby is getting so old. Next thing you know he'll be reading!
