Cousins! Maybe one day we will get a picture where they are all looking in the same direction!
Kaleb's first visit to the Dentist. He did pretty good, but he was nervous. He wasn't quite sure why these ladies wanted him to lay back.

On Mad TV they have a sketch about Stuart. Stuart is a little boy (played by a grown man) who goes around in his briefs saying to people "Look what I can do!". Well, that has become Kaleb. For a period of about 10 minutes Kaleb will say "Hey Mama, Daddy, watch me!" then he will do some random move such as touching the ground with his left hand and lifting his right leg into the air. Or he will jump and spin in the air. To which Jason and I always say "Wow! Look at those moves". No two moves are ever the same, because Jason will tell him "I've already seen you do that one" so Kaleb will make sure to put a new twist on the old move! It is really stinking funny to watch. Look for Kaleb in the entertainment industry when he gets older!

Happy Birthday to my niece and nephew, Clara and Carter! (July 11) We went to Grand Rapids this past weekend for the big birthday bash. Emerson and especially Kaleb loved being around all the kids. They had a great time. I can't believe how fast the year has gone.
Our niece Avery also turned 1 in May and Katherine's son Lennon turned 1 in June. Lots of toddling babies around this summer!
Emerson has started crawling!! She takes only a few movements and then drops to her belly and scoots along because right now that is the faster way. Once she gets good at crawling she is going to be all over the place.
Last Wednesday I finished my thesis paper. I mailed it into the professor and I am now waiting to get it back with feedback. I'll make any corrections he noted, mail it back and then I will be DONE with my master's degree!! YAY!
I'll be uploading more pictures later and posting them!

Picture this: Monday night Kaleb goes though his bedtime routine and finally gets in bed around 8:30pm. For the next hour he plays the game of 'needing' things or just 'wanting to talk', which is what he says! Finally, I hear him shut his door. Since I know he can't turn on his own light, because I turned it off at the fan, I'm ok with him shutting the door. Around 10pm I walk down the hallway to check on him and notice his door is open while my door is the one that is shut. I open the door to find Kaleb laying in my bed, hands behind his head relaxing, watching the Food Network channel ( apparently the last show I was watching was Top Chef )!!!!!! Jason and I exchanged glances, giggles, and an "Oh no he didn't"! Then off to his own bed he went, kicking and screaming.
Oh yeah, and I will be needing a root canal! OUCH! With my dentist being on vacation and all I was forced to call another dentist that he had listed as an 'Emergency' contact. I'm going in this morning because I am in so much pain. I'm pretty sure I have taken more Tylenol in the last 72 hours than I have in the past 2 years. Really I don't even know what the dentist is going to be able to do today. I can't imagine he will do a root canal on someone he has never seen. Plus I'm just being put in as a scheduled appt. so I don't know how much time he can spend with me. Go ahead doc PULL IT! Chewing is overrated, who needs molars anyway? Wish me luck!

In sending out the emails to inform everyone about the site, Jenny, Kaleb's sitter asked why I was paying for the aboutmybaby site and why I didn't just keep it free. It stumped me for a minute as I remember when I started it that you only got it free for 30 days and then had to pay. Low and behold I go on and it say that you can have a basic site with ads for FREE!! OMG! For 2 years or more I have been paying for this site not knowing that a basic package was free. I am kicking myself now. Why am I such a blonde sometimes?
Back to your regularly scheduled program.

It continues to amaze me that one minute Kaleb can make me want to pull my hair out and the next minute make me smile from ear to ear.
This morning while I was helping him get his shoes on he looks at my hair, which I had just put half up into a clip, and he says "Your hair looks really good!" I'm pretty sure I even blushed! Mind you my hair looks hideous, but if my kid thinks I look good then that is all that matters!
I have also just made Kaleb's first dentist appt. I was too worried to take him in before for fear that he would kick the dentist or bite his fingers!! Chris also told me that unless there were problems with his teeth, then 3 is a good age for the first appt. I just have to remember to take my camera with me next Monday morning.
Meanwhile I'm sitting here in absolute pain. Last fall one of my fillings broke, leaving a small hole in my tooth. Well, with being pregnant and waiting for the birth of Emerson, I put off going in to get it fixed. Well, come December it started to hurt. My dentist refilled it but told me it probably wouldn't work for long because in those months I had done quite a bit of damage to the tooth, what with my daily serving of diet pop and all. So, in the last week the pain has come back. I was even crying last night in pain. Tylenol and Ora-Gel are doing nothing for me. This morning I get on the phone asap to get an appt. made, and here is what I hear " The office is now closed. We will be back in the office on Monday, July 16, 2007" WHAT?!! I have to wait another week just to make the appt. I think I might pull a Tom Hanks from Castaway and knock my own tooth out!

Emerson is getting so close to crawling. She is always up on hands and knees, rocking back and forth. She pushes up onto her feet and even leaps forward, but falls on her face! Just this past week she started army crawling, or dragging her body along the floor! I just know when this kid gets moving there will be nothing stopping her. Leave her alone for a minute now, with only being able to drag herself, and she is already in the next room. She is also starting to put up a little fight with her brother. He is a big meany to her sometimes and likes to take her toys away, but now she is actually holding onto those toys with a tighter grip and making him work for it!!
Emerson on the move......almost!
And one of the crazy boy!
